Tema e Variazioni No. 78 Wall Plate

Tema e Variazioni No. 78 presents Lina Cavalieri's celebrated portrait partially concealed beneath a delicate black veil.  The fine net-like pattern overlays her features without obscuring them completely.

Part of Piero Fornasetti's celebrated Tema e Variazioni series, the design demonstrates the artist's fascination with transforming a single image through subtle interventions.  Here, the addition of a veil introduces a new visual dimension while preserving the unmistakable features that became the foundation for hundreds of variations.

Rendered in crisp black and white on fine porcelain, the plate pairs classical portraiture with the decorative flourishes that define Fornasetti's enduring body of work.  Displayed individually or alongside other pieces from the series, it offers a distinctive interpretation of one of decorative art's most recognisable motifs.
