Tema e Variazioni No. 334 Wall Plate

Tema e Variazioni No. 178 presents one of Piero Fornasetti's most intriguing reworkings of Lina Cavalieri's portrait.  A finger drawn to the lips in the classic "silenzio" or shhh gesture alters the familiar image with the lightest of interventions, demonstrating the artist's ability to transform a single face through gesture alone.  At once recognisable and unexpected, the composition exemplifies the enduring appeal of the Tema e Variazioni series.

Rendered in the atelier's signature black and white palette, the design captures the playful tension between repetition and reinvention that defines the collection.
