Wooden Hall Chair

This wooden side chair showcases an intricately pierced and carved back splat, featuring scrolling motifs, geometric details and a central roundel.  The shaped crest rail and decorative openwork carving contrast with the chair's simple, straight legs and woven cane seat, highlighting the craftsmanship of the back panel.

The warm-toned timber has developed a rich patina over time, while the crisp carving and balanced proportions give the chair a distinctive architectural character.  A decorative and highly detailed example of traditional craftsmanship.
