Squat Coil Built Vase

This organic ceramic vase celebrates the handmade character of traditional coil-built pottery, a technique in which layers of clay are built up by hand to create the vessel's form.  The gentle ridges visible beneath the glossy glaze reveal this process, adding texture and depth to the surface.  Its rounded, squat silhouette is complemented by a painterly blend of blue, burgundy and white tones, creating a distinctive decorative piece with plenty of individual character.  As each vase is made by hand, variations in form and glaze are to be expected, making every example unique.
